Tom Hannum and Vance Kershner, owners of Buckley's Tavern in Wilmington, decided to show Kershner's car collection in the Goober's Garage, a 100-year-old building that has been transformed into a neon-lit display case. The garage is directly across the street from Goober's Diner, a two-story, 80-seat stainless-steel retro 1950's diner. Hannum and Kershner named the restaurant and garage after an old "Andy Griffith Show" character.
